What is a Management System

From the ISO website: “Management systems refer to what the organisation does to manage its processes, or activities, so that its products or services meet the objectives it has set itself”.

When you look at it like that, every organisation has a management system. Some systems are more formal than others, but formality is not the sole predictor of success. Effective organisations often have a combination of formal and informal management systems.

Fortunately, ISO likewise do not prescribe complete formality (records and procedures) for absolutely part of the organisation.
